Terms of service

Last updated 28 October 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Decent Software Ltd (company number 16831421, registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom), which runs Receipt Router. "We" and "us" mean Decent Software Ltd. By creating an account, you agree to these terms.

The service

Receipt Router gives you an email address to forward receipts to. We read each receipt and deliver it to the destinations you connect, such as FreeAgent and Google Drive.

Receipt Router is for business use. By using it, you confirm you're using it for your business, as a sole trader, freelancer or company, and not as a consumer. If you sign up on behalf of a company, you confirm you're allowed to accept these terms for it.

Your account

Keep access to your email account secure: we sign you in with links sent to it. Tell us straight away at joe@decentsoftware.co.uk if you think someone else has access to your Receipt Router account.

Free trial

Each business gets its first 10 delivered receipts free, with no card needed and no time limit. After that, we'll still receive and read new receipts, but hold them until you subscribe. Held receipts are delivered, oldest first, once you do.

Price and payment

  • A subscription costs £10 a month per business, plus VAT where it applies, and includes unlimited receipts.
  • You pay monthly in advance by card through Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel.
  • If a payment fails, Stripe will retry it and email you. New receipts are held until the payment goes through.
  • We may change the price. We'll email you at least 30 days before a change takes effect, and you can cancel before then.

Cancelling and refunds

You can cancel anytime from the billing section of your settings. You won't be charged again, and your subscription runs to the end of the month you've paid for.

Because the free trial lets you try Receipt Router before you pay, we don't refund payments already made, including for part of a month. If you think you've been charged in error, email us and we'll put it right.

What you agree to

  • Only send us receipts and documents you have the right to share.
  • Don't use your Receipt Router address to send us spam, malware or anything unlawful, and don't try to disrupt or get around how the service works.
  • Check what we deliver. Reading receipts and matching them to FreeAgent transactions is automated and can get things wrong. You remain responsible for your own accounts and tax returns.

What we provide

We'll take reasonable care to run Receipt Router well and keep your data safe, as described in our privacy policy. We don't promise it will always be available or free of errors, and we may change features as the service develops. We're not accountants, and nothing in Receipt Router is financial or tax advice.

Receipt Router relies on services such as FreeAgent, Google Drive and email providers. We're not responsible for problems caused by those services or by changes to them.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law.

Otherwise, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue, data or time. Our total liability to you for anything to do with Receipt Router is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Suspending or closing accounts

You can close your account at any time by emailing us. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or that we reasonably believe is being used to harm the service or others. Unless the problem is serious, we'll email you first and give you a chance to fix it. If we stop offering Receipt Router altogether, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice and refund any payment for time after it closes.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change affects you, we'll email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you keep using Receipt Router after that, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can cancel.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
